Changes in Plans and Pricing Effective from September 1, 2024

Jan Bouchner
founder and tech lead of Zenamu.com

Dear Friends,

We hope you're enjoying the summer holidays at a more relaxed pace!

We'd like to inform you about upcoming changes to Zenamu, which will take effect from September 1, 2024.

The changes concern the current plans:

The “Professional” and “Studio” plans will no longer be available, and we're replacing them with 3 new plans -- ”Lite”, ”Professional”, and ”Expert”.

The free plan (”Getting Started”) will no longer limit how many classes you can schedule.

Each plan will differ based on features and the number of orders placed per month.

You'll find full details about the plans, features, and pricing on our website.

Thank you for your support!

We'd like to explain why we've decided to take this step.

What started as a small hobby project in 2021 -- something Barbara and I built in our free time -- has grown into a comprehensive system for managing your open classes, courses, workshops, and passes. And according to your feedback, it's still easy to use!

Along the way, we've added countless features and improvements. Your feedback and our commitment to quality keep pushing us forward.

Some of the significant features we've added to the system since its launch include:

  • Clear last-minute cancellation policies with automatic cancellation fees
  • Sophisticated course management: refunds, discounted sign-ups for remaining spots in ongoing courses, and drop-in booking for open slots (a la open classes)
  • Plugins for integrating into your website
  • PDF Receipts and exports for accounting
  • Automatic event and client tags for better visibility and faster navigation
  • Advanced analytics and statistics for tracking your orders and revenues
  • Connecting to email marketing tools
  • A better interface: we keep improving the experience for both you and your clients

We believe that the new plans reflect the added value and capabilities that our platform currently offers.

Still the best price/performance ratio on the market

Even after the price adjustment, our offer remains the best solution on the market. Compared to competitors, Zenamu includes features in its basic plan that others lock behind premium tiers. We don't think it makes sense to limit you from the start -- whether by capping your client count, blocking discounted passes, restricting card payments, or hiding schedule embeds behind a paywall.

These are all things that can help your business and teaching practice grow!

Why did we decide to limit our plans based on the number of orders?

As your practice grows, your order volume increases. This pricing model lets us tailor our services to your needs, so you always get the support and features that match your business.

1 order = 1 active (i.e., not canceled) booking for an open class, an entire course, or a workshop.

We appreciate you staying with us on our journey and benefiting from the continuous development of our system.

Questions and Answers

I have a free plan (“Getting Started”) - what will happen?

On September 1, your ”Getting Started” plan will automatically update to the new terms.

I have a prepaid “Professional” or “Studio” plan - until when can I use it after September 1?

Your current plan will remain functional with all existing features according to the currently valid price list (current Pricing) until the end of the prepaid period.

This means:

  • If you've previously subscribed to a plan for a year, which expires for example on February 17, 2025, nothing will change for you until that time
  • If your last monthly payment falls before September 1 -- say, August 25 -- your subscription stays active until September 25. It'll remain fully functional until the prepaid period ends

After your prepaid period expires, your account will automatically switch to the free ”Getting Started” plan.

We'll notify you by email about the switch. We apologize in advance for any temporary feature limitations while your account is on the “Getting Started” plan.

How can I order a new plan after switching to the basic plan?

Starting September 1, thanks to our new payment gateway (Stripe), you'll be able to switch between plans on your own. (See ”What if I exhaust the order limit?” below.) You'll be able to switch from lower to higher plans and vice versa.

However, you'll need to set up a new card payment. In other words:

After switching to the basic free plan, you'll need to place a new order.

What if I exhaust the order limit for the given period with the new plan?

If you hit the order limit on your current plan, you can upgrade, pay the prorated difference, and keep using Zenamu without restrictions.

How does the switch to a higher plan work?

You can find more about how plan switching works and the new plans on our pricing page.
