What is Namaste?

A traditional Indian greeting paired with palms pressed together, expressing respect and gratitude.
The word “Namaste” comes from Sanskrit and literally means “I bow to you.” It’s often used at the beginning or end of a yoga class, accompanied by palms joined at the chest.
This greeting symbolizes respect, humility, and the connection between teacher and student. In the West, it has become a beautiful symbol of the yoga community and mutual appreciation.
